Do I have to be in good shape before I start?No, you will get into shape as you train. We have a series of movements that you will learn as you progress through the ranking system which will enable you to perform the self defense techniques.

I am 41 years old, am I too old to start martial arts?"No, you are not too old to begin martial arts training. Practical Wing Chun regularly has students start from adolecense through their 50's and older. It is a practical and effective martial art that does not incorporate gymnastics.

What is the difference between Practical Wing Chun and Traditional Wing Chun?Both are very practical, however Practical Wing Chun has modified many of the moves in the forms to make them more similar to the exercises we train. We also have a slightly different stance and look to get closer to our opponent than in Traditional Wing Chun.

I am very busy with my work schedule, how much time do I need to devote to Wing Chun classes?"The 1.5hr class each week is recommended as well as practicing at home. As you progress through the ranks if you want extra 1-to-1 attention then we offer private lessons which can further help you hone your skills.

How long does it take to finish the system?It takes approximately 3-5 years to reach finish the system depending on how often you train, and your previous training experience.

What sort of things should I consider when choosing a school?There are two main things to ask yourself: 1. Do I enjoy the training? 2. Do I feel the martial art is effective for my goals?
