Biu Zi 2nd Section (3 of 3)

雙擸手/soeng1 laap3 sau2 (serng lap sao)/double bringing together HAND

ANGLES:

  1. 1 Hand Gaau Caa Sau to prepare

  2. As you Zyun Maa front hand goes to SNT Laap, back hand to SNT Dau Sau

  3. This is double BZ Laap – in the 1st section of the form is single BZ Laap (after 3rd Kap Zaang – High Elbow)

APPLICATIONS:

  1. Same side, inside or diagonal, outside

  2. Pull them down and to the sidesingle BZ Laap pulls them directly towards you

  3. 3 main applications on the outside:

  4. double Laap into BZ Paak Daa uppercut (see below) above their Laaped arm (pull lower)

  5. double Laap into BZ Paak Daa uppercut below their Laaped arm (pull higher)

  6. double Laap into break their arm (your Dau Sau fingers go above their elbow to prepare for the break) – hand on their elbow jerks forwards, hand on their wrist jerks backwards

  7. Saan Sau/Ci Sau Ideas:

  8. Punch/outside double Laap into BZ uppercut + BZ Paak (like form)/Punch/inside Paak Daa with Gou Waang Zoeng (like the form)

  9. Punch/inside double Laap into Bok Daa (shoulder strike)

拍手低拳/paak3 sau2 dai1 kyun4 (pak sao dai kuen)/patting hand low punch

ANGLES:

  1. Zyun Maa the opposite way from double Laap

  2. Punch is same as CK uppercut but lower to the level of your 2nd centreline

  3. Paak is same as SNT Cin Paak Sau but elbow angle is only 90°

  4. Paak above the uppercut in the form (in practice can be below also)

APPLICATIONS:

  1. Same side, outside

  2. Zyun Maa gives the uppercut more power

  3. Applications same as double Laap above

拍手高横掌/PAAK3 SAU2 gou1 waang4 zoeng2 (pak sao go wang jeung)/patting HAND high horizontal palm

ANGLES:

  1. Same as a Hau Paak Daa with a Gou Waang Zoeng strike

  2. Turn in the turned out toe from Zyun Maa to Peng Maa (flat stance) as you Paak Daa

  3. After Paak Daa, cross the arms (like a Gaau Caa Sau but with fists) as you pull the arms back

APPLICATIONS:

  1. Inside or outside Hau Paak

  2. Saan Sau/Ci Sau Ideas:

  3. Punch/outside Cin Paak Uppercut (under the Paak)/Punch/inside Paak Daa

横迴大周天/WAANG4 wui4 daai6 zau1 tin1 (wui dai jao tin)/wide revolving big perimeter sky [halo move]

ANGLES:

  1. Bum back + Soeng Gaau Caa Sau (2 hands going forward)

  2. Arms rotate around your 5th centreline (mid-point between your feet) – left hand in front for 1st and 3rd times, palms forward as you rotate

  3. Hinge at the shoulders and do 2 large circles with your arms as you stand up – 3rd centrelines cross and protect the back of your head as much as possible

  4. Keep rotating arms until you get to Zong Sau (1 hand Gaau Caa Sau + Zyun Maa) – left hand in front for 1st and 3rd times

  5. Repeat for 2nd time with right hand on top for Gaau Caa Sau, right hand in front for ‘rotating round your 5th centreline’

APPLICATIONS:

  1. Grabbed from behind round your arms/Bum goes back to break the hold into grabbing their leg to take them off balance

  2. Attempted hammer to the back of your head as you stand up/‘Halo’ crossing your 3rd centrelines behind your head

  3. Attempted headbutt/‘Halo’ high elbow to their jaw

  4. Straight punch/inside ‘Halo’ shielding your head as your elbow comes up

  5. Used to protect side of head from a hook

  6. Saan Sau/Ci Sau Ideas:

  7. Punch/Same side inside ‘Halo’ breaking their arm + turning to face a 2nd opponent

  8. Punch/Same side, inside BZ single laap + Halo elbow up to their jaw

  9. Punch/Double inside Paak Daa into LH Halo move breaking their arm

上馬穿腕/soeng5 maa5 cyun1 wun2/ [forward] step piercing wrist

ANGLES:

  1. Right hand first (as the right hand is back for the last Zong Sau of ‘Halo’)

  2. Cyun Wun at the height of your own same side upper arm while stepping with the same leg (i.e. right arm, right leg)

  3. Cyun Wun goes over your own arm when stepping forwards

  4. Cyun Wun wrist goes from flexed to extended

  5. Only 1 Cyun Wun (when going forwards)

  6. Zing San Maa when stepping (back foot first when going forwards)

  7. Back hand is Hau Sau (90° Taan Sau)

APPLICATIONS:

  1. Diagonal, outside of their front arm, to the upper arm of their back hand

  2. Same side, inside to their shoulder – good if they are about to follow up with a hook

  3. Cyun Wuns are better going over your own arm when you are on the offensive – often your elbows are lower when your arms are on top and have the advantage (2nd centreline) and so it’s easier to go over

退馬穿腕/TEOI3 MAA5 CYUN1 WUN2 (toi ma chuen wun)/retreating STEP piercing wrist

ANGLES:

  1. Left hand first (after the last right hand of Soeng Maa Cyun Wun)

  2. Cyun Wun at the height of your own same side upper arm while stepping with the same leg (i.e. right arm, right leg)

  3. Cyun Wun goes under your own arm when stepping backwards

  4. Cyun Wun wrist goes from flexed to extended

  5. 3 Cyun Wuns (when going backwards)

  6. Zing San Maa when stepping (front foot first when going backwards)

  7. Back hand is Hau Sau (90° Taan Sau)

APPLICATIONS:

  1. Diagonal, outside of their front arm, to the upper arm of their back hand

  2. Cyun Wuns are better going under your own arm when on the defensive – often your elbows are being raised and so it’s easier to go under and regain the 4th centreline (135° in your elbow)
